The King’s Cross rejuvenation is transforming a 67-acre site into an exciting live-work-play area of London with 50 new buildings, 1 900 new homes, 20 new streets, 10 new public parks and squares and 26 acres of open space. The R3 scheme is a 61-apartment complex designed by Squire & Partners to be in keeping with the site’s history as a major railway terminus.
QCIC was commissioned to design the security fit out. We worked in collaboration with the architects and interior designers to reduce the need for overt security measures. As a result, our designs for automated access control systems, CCTV and voice communication were in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the project. We also created a residential video intercom system that was deployed throughout the development.
Our approach to the project was one of simple integration, such as with the linking of CCTV camera systems to the graphical user interface of the access control software. This approach allows daily operations to be managed without having to switch between separate software systems.
